Switching from ICT to general Visa under the new point based system.

Post by Sauvik » Fri Oct 30, 2020 10:46 am

Hi,
I am currently working in UK under Tier 2 Intra Company Transfer(ICT) Visa. On Jan 2021, UK Government will be introducing the Point Based System in the country. I have few questions regarding this.
1)Can my present company sponsor me for the Skilled Labour Visa.
2)My company is registered for sponsoring in Tier 2 ICT visa, do they require any new registration to sponsor in the new category.
3)Can i apply directly if i have the offer letter and get the required 70 points under this category.

Bit curious here, why would you want new PBS Visa from existing employer. The minimum salary requirement for PBS is much less compared to ICT, so technically your employer can file PBS for you with a lower pay.

Coming to your 2nd point, yes company requires a license for PBS. If a employer already has a license for Tier 2 ICT it is quite likely they have license for Tier 2 General as well and they will automatically get license for new VISA system.
You can check this list and see if the company is already present there.

3. Once you get COS from the new employer, you can file on your own. But senior member in the forum can throw some light on this.
