ILR question on absence

Hi,
I came to UK in 2003, will be completing 5 years in November. Earlier I was on WP and now on HSMP. Have a gap of almost 5 months in one of WP (same WP). What are chances of my application for ILR being successful?

During this 5 months I got salary from employer. Whether I need to submit a letter from employer?
