Naturalization covid delays??

Post by iceman010881 » Sat Dec 12, 2020 8:13 pm

Hi

My wife submitted her naturalization application in August 2020. Im a british citizen. She has had ILR since 2012. I know we are within 6 months but in other timelines I have seen approvals after 3 months.

We got an email as below.

""
We aim to process all applications within 6 months from the date submitted. However, in certain circumstances this target is not possible. Following our assessment of your case, unfortunately it appears your application will not be processed within the 6 month target.

This is because it is taking longer than usual to process applications because of coronavirus (COVID-19). This will not affect the decision

We expect to make a decision on your application as soon as possible, but we will write to you again if this is not going to be possible ""

Is this actually due to covid or something else? Should I wait until 6 months and then chase?

Thank you.
