Spouse Visa - Category B - 12 Months

Hi all,

Thanks for your assistance here.

My wife and I are applying for her family visa to join me here in the UK.

We are going through the category B salaried route.

I have been with the same employer for the last three months and had a different employer before this.

I have all the payslips and bank statements to show that I have met the £18.6k threshold.

I also have all my P60s and P45s for the last 12 months.

I also have my current employer's letter and contract to show that I still meet the minimum requirements.

However, my question is - do I need a letter from my previous employer too?

For Category B, you have to meet two requirements:

This category requires two different calculations:

Gross annual salary/income at the date of the application and
Actual salary/income received in the 12 months prior to the application.

b) A letter from the employer(s) who issued the payslips at paragraph 2(a) confirming:
(i) the person’s employment and gross annual salary;
(ii) the length of their employment;
(iii) the period over which they have been or were paid the level of salary relied upon in the application; and
(iv) the type of employment (permanent, fixed-term contract or agency).
