MN1 Application - Do I need to renew expired ILR

Hi all,
I just discovered that my children's ILR has expired March 2020.
I have naturalised myself as British Citizen in Sept 2020.
Now I am planning to apply for British Citizenship for my children.

My question is about the expired ILR, do I need to renew it before applying for BC, or can I use the expired one itself.

ILR card is expired, not the ILR status. No need to renew the card.
