Hello Immigrationboards! I need your advice for some questions I have about my current status. Please kindly help me!
I was on a Tier 2 visa as a nurse which would expire January 2022 within one NHS employer then I got offered a job from a different NHS employer last October 2020, I was assigned a COS on November 23,2020 and Start Date stated on the COS was January 4, 2021. I have read from one forum that one should not resign from his current employer until the visa for the new employer is granted or you will be risking having to go back to your country. But now from this website I found out that I should have stopped working for my current employer on the date written as Start Date of my new COS with new employer. To date, I have worked 3 weeks beyond that date with my current(old) employer. I have received my new Health and Care visa confirmation email from UKVI that it has been approved yesterday. My questions are:
1. Will this mistake affect my ILR application mid this year? What can I do as a solution if it will.
2. I still have 2 more weeks with my old employer to serve as a notice for resignation, can I just call them that I cannot serve the required 2 weeks anymore?
3. From date of issuance of visa, what is the tome frame of how soon must I start with my new employer?
I would greatly appreciate your advice and answer to my queries. Thank you Immigrationboards!
