Apply new PSS

Post by Andy63 » Tue Feb 23, 2021 9:00 am

Hi Everyone

I am Eu citizen living in UK with PSS. My continuing residency has been broken so I want to apply for new PSS.

I have applied for Euss family permit for parents with current PSS which is still pending for decision.

In this case, if I apply for new PSS, will it effect my application of my parents. Will they will reject my parents application if I apply for new PSS.

Many Thanks

How has your residence been broken? Exact or approx timeline.

I am not asking if you broke your residence, I am asking how you broke your residence.

I ask because I have seen many people believing their residency has been broken when it hasn't (e.g. going away for a few months but continuing working remotely for a UK company, among other scenarios). You have no other posts to verify what your timeline is, hence I need to ask.

So, can you please share your full timeline?

I was out from Uk from 7th oct 2019 to 2nd nov 2019 which is 27 days. Later, I was out of UK from 27th Dec 2019 to 6th jun 2020 which is 163 days.

In total it was 190 days in a calendar year.

Your suggestion will be kindly appreciated. Thanks

What was your work situation during these periods? You might believe the physical presence is the only thing relevant, but it isn't. Were you still paying taxes and contributing to NI in the UK whilst you were "absent"?

During my first holiday from 7th oct 2019 to 2nd nov 2019. I was on holiday pay, so I was paying tax and NI contributions. But, for 2nd holiday, I left job. So, I didn’t have any contribution after 27th Dec 2019 until 6th jun 2020.

Then your absence is 163 days not 190.
