Spouse visa- should applicant say she intends to work in UK?

Post by Sebas » Tue Sep 30, 2008 10:48 pm

Hi, my wife is applying for the spouse visa, I am of course her sponsor. In the question on the form asking whether she should work, is this a trick question? Is it better just to be vague or have a definite employment plan? If you look like you are applying for the visa in order to find work in the UK, it could reflect badly on your intentions. But if you don't then it reflects badly on your finances! Help!

It is not a trick question. The question simply needs to be answered honestly.

A successful applicant for a spouse visa is permitted to work in the UK, so absolutely no problem the person admitting that they intend to work.
