Hi All,

Am completing 5 years as a dependant of a settled person in May 2021 however my visa expires only in July 2021. As per the 5 year rule can i apply in May or only 28 days before the current expiry of the visa. Different websites are saying different things - some say its 28 days prior to 5 years completion and some say u can apply only 28 days before current visa expiry. Can you please guide.

Your visa expiry is irrelevant. It is 28 days from finishing the 5 years, counting from the first date of entry to the UK (or visa approval in the UK if you switched)
