Family Member Residence Stamp

Hello,
Just a couple of questions.

After the application for a family permit has been successful once in the UK will I be abble to work considering this is just a temporary visa?

Also, since my wife is an Estonian National and has not been employed continuously in the Uk for more than 12 months, I will have to apply for what is called a Family member Residence Stamp. My questions is, will I have to wait until she finds employment before I even consider applying for this Family member Residence Stamp? I could easily find a great job to support us both but it seems that I won't be able to work until she finds one. Is this correct?
