Non EU international students and NVQ work based courses

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can clarify the following:

1. Can overseas nationals from outside EU apply and get a student visa if they gain admission in a NVQ 3 or above work based course?

2. Can overseas nationals from outside EU who are already on student visa and have finished their studies or about to finish their studies get an extension if they get enrolled on a NVQ 3 or above work based course?
