Change new passport and go to police office to update

hi, i have changed my old china passport to new one.And i went to police office.But why the police did not make a note on my police register letter?He just copy my new passport and my police register letter and refuse wrote my new passport number on the letter.Is it influence my long residency visa application in the future?

You need to update your certificate at the place where you got it and usually you need an appointment to do that.
