Last minute change in responsible adult for biometrics

Hi, i was planning to attend a biometrics appt with my 2 years old as the responsible adult. Now and due to unexpected health reasons, I maynot be able to attend with him, can his mum go instead with a written confirmation from me? Any input will be appreciated as the appt is this week.
