can a spouse on visitor visa switch to HSMP dependent in UK?

Hi,
I am currently on HSMP (2+3)Tier 1 .I have recently married In Pakistan. I wanted my wife to come to uk on visitor visa and than switch to HSMP dependant in UK.
Do they allow switching status in UK as HSMP(Tier1)dependant.I called enquiry desk and they said No but My friends have done this in the past. Can anyone please guide me to the link...

The inormation you were given is correct. No switching is allowed.

definitely not allowed. here's the link...it applies even for post study category.
