Maiden name on BRP and married name on Passport

Post by Biddy01 » Tue May 24, 2022 5:12 pm

I am hoping I can get the answer I need here. I recently applied for a new passport because the old one expired. I changed from my maiden name to my husband's name. My BRP still has my maiden name, but I need to travel to my home country based urgently. I just received my new passport a few days ago, and I have paid to replace my BRP, but I haven't done my biometrics yet. My question will I be allowed back into the UK with these travel documents?

Technically, if all your documents are still valid, you should be allowed into the country.
Travel with your old passport showing your maiden name, BRP, new passport and Marriage certificate. All that would prove beyond reasonable doubt that you're one and the same.
Women change names all the time.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
