Do I need MN1 form?

Post by adnanahmed89 » Sat Jun 04, 2022 12:13 am

Hi

I was granted ILR before the birth of my child. My wife did not have a ILR though - she is tier 2 dependent at the moment. I have got the birth certificate of my child.

Few questions:

1. Do I need to apply for MN1 registration for the child?
2. If not MN1, can I directly apply for the British passport for the child? Is anything required before that?

Thanks in advance

1. If child was born in the UK, then no.
2. If child was born in the UK, then yes.

Do keep your current ILR BRP as evidence of child’s British citizenship.
