PBS Dependent VS Family Visa for partner

Hi all,

I read some posts here regarding this but still confused with the whats needed especially due to whats listed in gov.uk website.

I got my ILR in 2019 and Citizenship this year (2022) through 5 year route (Tier 2 Visa). My wife joined me as a dependent in 2019 with a PBS Dependant Leave to Remain visa. Its time to renew her visa now. Does she have to apply for

1) Skilled Worker Visa As Partner
1a) Is this applicable as I no longer hold a Skilled Worker Visa as I am a citizen. The UK Gov website seems to suggest this is only for people joined their partner or a Tier 2 or similar visa.

2) Family Visa - Partner
2a) This type seems to make more sense but I am concerned since this is a different "type" of visa, she might reset her 5 year counter to her ILR route.

Your wife should apply to extend her PBS dependant visa. She can do so even if you are now a BC. In her application she'll have to give details of your last Tier 2 sponsorship.

If she switches to a spouse (family) visa her ILR clock will be reset to zero
