Stamp4 visa extension and travel abroad

Hello - I hope to get some advice here.

I have fallen deeply for a Brazilian girl who came to Ireland on stamp4 visa dependent on her husband, who is European. She however recently separated from him and so is in the process of applying for an extension of her Stamp4 while she applies for a Portuguese passport.

Can she leave the country while her application for a stamp4 extension is in process?

She is hoping to come to Canada to visit for 1-2 weeks but is worried she is not supposed to leave the country with this underway.
