Marriage without residency

Post by jim_bob » Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:37 pm

Hello all.

I'm Irish by birth, married for six years with two Irish children.

My wife is American but we're been living all over the place because of work.

I read somewhere that exceptions to residency requirement can be made. Does anyone have experience with this?

It’s unclear what you are trying to do.

If your wife wants to get Irish citizenship based on your marriage, she must live in Ireland as a resident for 3 years. There is no exception whatsoever.
