London to Dublin

Post by fata1970 » Thu Oct 13, 2022 4:00 pm

Hello,
I am very keen to keeping good records, and paranoid about matching to it with governments records.

I have to go to Dublin for one week from London.

- does it get recorded in the exit system from UK? Will I see immigration on either side, will my passport be stamped?
- do I need to mention it as an exit on my visa/brp/ILR application when it say "did you leave the UK in the past 2 years?"

When you do travel to Dublin as a non-EU/UK citizen, you passport would be stamped at port of entry in Dublin. When coming back from Dublin, you wouldn't be stamped back into the UK as you wouldn't even go through passport control.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Also reminder that ROI, as a separate nation, has its own visa requirements, so check if you need a visa before you depart.
UPD: checked post history, all good for Australians.
