I honestly think they don't want to make any public promises and/or commitments just in case something goes wrong.snoil wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 4:47 pmI wonder why it would be too early for just general guidance? Like, "As of today, we are planing 4 ceremonies for 2023. However, the dates have not been finalized."
I assume that the location needs to be booked and other items coordinated. Looking at the last one, I see they announced the December 2022 on November 1st. But I would think that things were being planned well before that posting on the webpage.
Hi, could you please point those words about ceremony for 2023?could not find itsnoil wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 4:47 pmI wonder why it would be too early for just general guidance? Like, "As of today, we are planing 4 ceremonies for 2023. However, the dates have not been finalized."

Thought it was an example statement this person wants ISD to make, not a quote?jesonnn wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 12:12 pmHi, could you please point those words about ceremony for 2023?could not find itsnoil wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 4:47 pmI wonder why it would be too early for just general guidance? The statistics booklet that you're probably referring to (https://www.irishimmigration.ie/wp-cont ... t-2022.pdf), which has 7039 as the number of certs issued, is January - June, so Dec ceremony isn't covered. Safe to add another 2-3 thousand certs to this, so about 10k or even more; latest known amount for 2 days is 5000.
They wouldn't want to show too much of a difference with last year's numbers I'm sure.2 and 3 March 2020 in Killarney, Co. Kerry
5,000 candidates became Irish citizens at the Killarney Convention Centre.
In 2021, my Department issued 11,512 citizenship decisions, which is the highest number of decisions made since 2015, and reflects positively the significant changes undertaken to date
3500 in last ceremony:meself2 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 1:50 pmThe statistics booklet that you're probably referring to (https://www.irishimmigration.ie/wp-cont ... t-2022.pdf), which has 7039 as the number of certs issued, is January - June, so Dec ceremony isn't covered. So without any news on the 6th of Feb, does it mean that we will wait until June?jesonnn wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 2:03 pmagree, if skip then will be waiting Marchmentalmind wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 2:00 pmWell we will surely know till Friday if there will be ceremony in March so lets wait and see.![]()
hopefully not. there should be one in spring but no one knows when but seems like it won't be in March. So it's either April or May. No one knows.snoil wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 1:40 pmSo without any news on the 6th of Feb, does it mean that we will wait until June?jesonnn wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 2:03 pmagree, if skip then will be waiting Marchmentalmind wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 2:00 pmWell we will surely know till Friday if there will be ceremony in March so lets wait and see.![]()
Again, I really don't understand why these are not scheduled for the entire year. It seems to me that it is a simple task to just be transparent and let the people waiting know what is planned.
Not May definitely, no sense cause June is closer, which is common for ceremony for the last few years.mentalmind wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 1:42 pmhopefully not. there should be one in spring but no one knows when but seems like it won't be in March. If they do one in May then definitely they won't do it in June, would be most likely in July or August. So if they do once every 4 months it will be evenly spread around. But anyways we will find out soon hopefully.jesonnn wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 2:05 pmNot May definitely, no sense cause June is closer, which is common for ceremony for the last few years.mentalmind wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 1:42 pmhopefully not. there should be one in spring but no one knows when but seems like it won't be in March. April, could be, if we have any news in 1st week of March, if nothing more likely June, also FFFG are preparing for election next year, for them it is important to keep new citizens "ready" closer to 2024, to put them an idea to whom they should be appreciated, at the same time 7000 or so new citizens can be "covered" for a couple of days

I have my thoughts about, based on dates of ceremonies prior to 2023 (excluding covid years)
1. If we have no any news in 1st week Feb, we are missing March
2. If we have no any news in 1st week of March, we should skip Apr (for exp in 2019 it was on Apr) and May (cause no sense doing that in May, while June is close to) and June is highly likely
Based on the information as they usually inform in 4-6 weeks prior to real ceremony and fact they usually make 2 in a single year (non common case 3)
We still have plenty people are waiting from 2021 (which brings them a bad statistics for 2 years awaiting), some still from 19-20 (regret guys if you are from that branch) and already 2022 is upcoming
Also as minister said in debates, every year 12000-13000 applications, based on statistics from 5th Jan 2023 in 2022 it was only 7500 covered, which means every year 5000-6000 people go to its stack of awaiting list, too many and backlog is growing anyway and the the cases from 2023 go with application's number together with eVetting (what?), will those applications be approving quickly? Don't know, looks like it could be for the count of other applications to show "great response time" and "improve" theirs KPIs I presume
It does not mean anything, plenty people have approval already with paying fee (even from Dec22-Jan23), but nothing has been arranged yet, 100% not March already, they usually ask about ceremony in 4-6 weeks in advance, but nothing so far. April? Could be if any news will be in March, but not sure, I would do on June on their place
