Non UKVI approved Bank statement for visitor visa application

Hi all,
I am in the process to apply for my parent's visit visa application. My dad has a bank account which is not a UKVI-approved Bank where he gets his pension funds. The other bank statement is not more than 3 months old. Can they apply with Non-UKVI approved Bank 6 months statement for the visit visa application?
