Child care and working tax credit

Post by Theembie » Thu Jan 08, 2009 1:24 pm

I am married to a british citizen and I am from Africa. I have one child: 2 years 5 months old, and I want to take him to to the nursery. My husband and I are both working. If my husband will get childcare support for the child will it affect my application next year for indefinite stay.

No it won't. Child Tax Credits are not a public fund. Your husband has every right to claim for them as a UK citizen

Theembie, you are already claiming Child Benefit? You and your spouse are already claiming Tax Credits?

The childcare element will be just another factor in the Tax Credits claim.
