I am planning to apply for Tier 1 General visa on 2ndMarch09 from Bangalore VFS. Now I am in London with Working Holiday Visa (WHV). I have scored 100 points in the attributes, 10 for English and 10 for Maintenance. I have some doubts about submitting the evidences.
For Age (20 points), its quite straightforward – Passport should be fine.
For Qualification (30 points), I can submit my original engg degree and 4 years marksheets.
The doubts:
(The marksheets, I am submitting just to ensure that there is no doubt in the mind of the ECO, But at the sametime, my degree and institution are listed in the Point Calculator in the ukba site. So, inspite of that should I still submit my marksheets?). The other doubt is I saw in the guidance doc that we should provide the latest contact details of the Awarding body of my degree, does it mean I have to get a letter from my institute addressed to BHC (this, like I said, inspite of my institute and degree listed in the Point Calculator in the ukba site)?
For Previous Earnings (** points), I can submit my payslips (printed on A4 paper, signed and stamped) and bank statements (on bank stationery, the originals recieved through post).
The doubts:
I began working from 17Apr08 (I came to UK in feb first week 2008). I work for a bank, use an umbrella company and get paid weekly through the umbrella company (Accordingly, the umbrella company is my employer and the bank is my client). If I forgot to submit timesheet on time, then I get paid the next week. So I have payslips generated weekly or for some, two weeks pay payslips.
My bank statements is dated from 10th to 10th of the month, normally. I am thinking what to put down as my earnings period claimed, whether from 10thApr08 to 10thJan08 or 10thApr08 to 10thFeb09. If I put one of these, then my payments can be easily verified from the bank statements.
But then, my dilemma, if I say I am claiming till 10thJan09, does it mean whatever I earned till 10thJan09 or ..? Because, for the work I do for the week ending 10thJan09 - Saturday (that is from 5Jan09 to 9Jan09), I will get paid only next week, ie, on 16Jan09! Will the ECO think that even though I have claimed till 10Jan09, I have not submitted my earnings till the last day!!?
To clarify once again about how I get paid, if I work from Monday to Friday, I submit my timesheet the following Monday and I get paid the same following Friday (ie, there is a one week time lag), which is also reflected as the date I get paid in both payslips and bank statements.
The other doubt is, in the statements, the entry for my payments are shown as the address of my employer and not the company name. The first solution for this is to submit the credit payment advise slip which I receive for every payments made into my account from my employer. But unfortunately, I don’t have all of them. The workaround is to submit the latest 4 or 6 advice slips. The second solution is to ask the bank to provide a letter stating that all entries made in my statement from XXXXXX date to XXXXXX date is from my company but the bank people are not very cooperative in providing this kind of letters. They say they can only provide statements. And it seems like they don’t entertain customised letters! I am thinking of ways to overcome their resistance..

Also, in my claim period, I will not be claiming for whole 12 months period, my doubt is basically what to put down as start and end dates for the claim period. Had it been a case where I was paid monthly, it would have been quite straightforward.
For UK Experience (5 points), the evidences for Previous Earnings suffice I guess.
For English language (10 points), the degree certificate should do the job
For Maintenance Funds (10 points), I am planning to submit 3 months statements (of my savings ac, note that for the previous earnings, I am submitting statements for my current ac).
The doubts:
The bank said they could provide me the bank statements for the 3 months but I wanted them to provide a letter too stating that I have maintained 2800£ for the last three months and like I said, they don’t seem to be too cooperative. I am thinking if I should just submit the statements and be done with it.
Some other silly doubts:1. If I am applying from India for Entry clearance, but showing bank statements of UK ac, could there be issue?
2. Heard some rumor that it is not good to apply for Tier1 just after coming back from WHV. Any truth about it? (Some of my frens said as long as I score the points and the evidences are fine, there shouldn’t be any worry. But just confirming from this forum). (I plan to go back to India on 28Feb09 and apply on 2ndmar09)
