UK child passport expired

Hi,

I am applying to extend my partner visa. My wife and both children are British Citizens. When I was entering the information about one of my children, I realised his UK passport had expired so when I try to enter it, the website rejects it as it is expired. Do I need to wait for it to be renewed or can I exclude the passport in or put a date knthe future and just explain?

Also, would a character reference from my work be something of value for my application? I have my payslips and my wife's for our income requirements.

Your visa is based on your spouse, not your children. I understand that there's a column to fill in children info. You must realise that not all UK kids have a UK passport. It has no effect on your application.

Also, would a character reference from my work be something of value for my application? I have my payslips and my wife's for our income requirements. That's not a requirement (character reference). Only send what is needed., payslips are fine. You're not trying to join the MI6.
