Is ILR a work permit?

I am an ILR holder and in process of switching job. I am asked a below question

"Are you on a work permit?"

I am confused on whether should I answer yes or no. Could any experts here please clarify on whether ILR is classified as a work permit and ultimately what should be my answer to above question?

Depends what your new employer wants to know. We don't have knowledge of individual forms.

I assume this question is asked to figure out whether or not you need sponsorship, so I'd select "no". But you'll be better off asking your new employer that.

No. ILR is not a form of work permit. ILR (also known as settled status) means you are indefinitely settled in the UK and have no work or immigraton restrictions.
