Hi,
I am living with my child in the UK for 1 year on a student visa. Father is not in the UK and is abroad and is not joining us. I got a job offer and applying for a skilled worker visa. Can someone help me with what documents are needed to apply for my child as a dependent, I have to prove sole responsibility.
I am the only parent who is involved in her upbringing now in the UK.

Hi,
You would need these for your child
Passport copy
Birth certificate / sole custody order copies
From Main applicant
Cos copy
BRP card copy
Covering letter from main applicant
Accommodation rent lease agreement proof
bank statements of main applicant
payslips
accommodation lease / contract

But I don't have sole custody order. Will it cause issue for my child's visa?

In a word - yes.
You need to have legal sole responsibility for the child. This will be either court documents to state this or whatever the requirements are in your home country.

Is there any other way to prove that I am the only parent involved in my child's upbringing? My child has been with me for more than 1 year in the UK and is studying here. I can't send her to India as she is completely dependent on me.

Your partner/spouse can give you a mutual agreed sole custody of the child via notarised affidavit.
My colleague recently has had a success and has brought her child from India last week, very similar to your circumstances.

I brought my child as dependent on student visa and is studying here. But skilled worker visa is a settlement visa. So don't know what sort of documents I need to produce.
Kindly provide what sort of consent your colleague submitted to home office.
