Question on MN1 evidence

Post by carlewen » Sun Jan 14, 2024 1:26 pm

Hey all I'm working on the documents upload for my child's MN1 registration and have questions regarding the required docs and hope someone can help clarifying: :D

Background:
My wife is a British Citizen and a UK Passport holder since 1995. Our child was born in 2019 in Hong Kong (outside UK). My child and I (father) came to the UK with a Family Visa since Sep 2020. We are currently applying British citizenship for the child via MN1 registration as the child had been living in the UK for 3 years.

Questions:
1. In the evidence section, "If [Applicant's name] told us that their parent is settled in the UK then you must provide us evidence of their settled status. This could include a BRP, a letter from the Home Office, an endorsement in their passport or another document certifying permanent residence" - would my wife's UK passport be sufficient to proof for settled status? because there as another item that asked for parent's British citizen proof which I will attached my wife's passport and her certificate of citizenship.

2. There in another item stating "[Applicant's name]'s parent's foreign (non-EU) passport or alternative evidence of residence.

Whose foreign passport should I upload? My (father) HK passport or my wife's (expired) HK passport?

Thanks in advance.
