Two Applications Simultaneously

Hello Everyone. I am in a bit of predicament therefore would appreciate your opinion and advice.
I applied Indefinite leave to Remain on the basis of domestic abuse back in October 2023, while my ILR application was in process I spoke to my employer and managed to get work permit from them. I went on the same day service and got my visa on skilled worker route, now coincidently just before the decision(Skilled worker) on the same day I received an email from my caseworker of my ILR application asking for some further documents which I supplied immediately. Now my question is why my existing application wasn't withdrawn which I believe should automatically be withdrawn when you apply new visa? Is there any chance I can pursue my ILR application despite getting visa on Skilled worker route and if I do that would it effect my current leave which is now Skilled worker route?
