Is my son approved ?

Post by Mandy2024 » Wed Jan 31, 2024 11:56 pm

Hi everyone, I made an application to the home office to register my children as british as they have been in the UK since they were 2 years old but 15 and 18 years now.
I only just a an approval for citizenship for my 15 years old and no response as regards my 18+ years.

He turned 18 whilst waiting for home office decision. Application was made March 2023 and he was 17 years and his brother 14 years, and H.O replied in October apologising for the delay as the delay was caused by an IT issue. Only to get a response for approval for my for my 15 years only and nothing about my 18 years old today .

Any advice on this please? My solicitor has advice we give them till the end of the month.
My question is , both applications where done same day , so why approve one and leave the other pending?
Please advice 🙏

Any advice on what to do please?

Application being done same day from same family does mot guarantee decision and communication of same will be done at same time/day for the applicants.
The time it's taken is more than enough, leave a few days and can lodge complaint , get solicitor to chase it up.
Is your 18+ son leading an independent life now?

Note, as son turned 18 he will need to attend the ceremony. So they will send a request for payment of £80 which is the ceremony fee. Maybe that's causing delay. But as said wait a bit longer, if there was a problem UKVI would have contacted you, or solicitors if they submitted the application.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.
