Switching as my Dependent Real Son 19 years on Student Visa

Post by helpmehelpall » Mon Feb 05, 2024 6:09 am

Dear Experts,

Is it possible to switch my 19 years old son as my dependent (he is currently on student visa in UK)

My current status is Skilled Worker 5 years route.

I already have 3 x dependents under me (Spouse + 2 x Daughters under 18 years of age)

Please advise

Thanks

dependent children over 18 who were last granted permission as a dependent child of their parent(s)

Post by helpmehelpall » Mon Feb 05, 2024 6:55 am

Dear Friends,

As i was searching around the options for my over 18 years old son to apply for him as my dependent (i am on skilled worker 5 years route).

I found out this rule "dependent children over 18 who were last granted permission as a dependent
child of their parent(s)
"

My son was granted permission as dependent child in 2015 and had been living in UK as my dependent Child till 2018

Now when i am back to UK under Skilled Worker Route can i apply for him as my Dependent duly inline with above mentioned rule.

Please advise

The Rule is mentioned at Page-7 of this document

I would be inclined to say impossible. Particularly as they have a student visa presently. Once they complete their studies then the route will progress to either skilled worker in their right or a graduate visa.

Why are you looking at switching when they have a student visa?
