GHIC - Which name to use?

Post by KM0170 » Mon Mar 25, 2024 1:44 pm

Hi everyone,

Applying for a GHIC. I still have my unmarried name on my passport but I use my married name everywhere else e.g. at the doctors, UK driving license, bank etc. So should I be using my married or unmarried name for my GHIC card?

Thank you!

Not something governed by UK immigration rules, but in the event you have to seek medical help in an EU country you probably will be asked to show your passport, in addition to the GHIC card. Your other documents are unlikely to be accepted as ID. The NHS Issuing Office may also ask for a copy of your passport for ID purposes.
