Applying with dependent from US

I am applying for UK Tier 1 General Visa along with dependent from US
I wish to know if I would need to pay an additional cost for the dependents Visa. The dependent needs to fill a separate application for visa - does that mean the supporting documents for the two of us need to be mailed separately? Also, would there be a different biometric scan appointment for the two of us or could it be done under the same scheduled appointment with the main applicant.

NO need to pay extra fee - if the dependents applying along with main applicant

NO you dont need extra docs - all application should be sent in the same envelope with the same supporting documents...
