What category to use for FLRM?

Post by irajo4w » Sun Apr 21, 2024 5:13 pm

My fiance visa got approved and if everything goes by plan, we should be applying for flrm after August. The problem is, my UK fiance got a job promotion within the same company he was for 10 years. He got promoted on a higher role and he will be moving from being non salaried to salaried. So at the time we need to apply for our flrm, in the 6 months before that, he will be both non salaried and salaried. We dont know what category to apply for and how to calculate his income for the 18,600 requirement.
Just to mention, the promotion will be temporary with a possibility of becoming perma.

Same company for 6 months - there is no issue here. As long as you meet the financial requirements.

But do we apply under non salaried or salaried? We will have around 3 payslips where he was non salaried and then the rest salaried.

Category A is generally for those who want to rely on employment that has been held for six months or longer at the date of application.
Salaried or non salaried is not really an issue.
It is the stability of being in employment for 6 months with one company and meeting the salary threshold.
People on zero hours contracts qualify as do those doing agency work.
Don’t overthink it

Yes, but the problem is, one of his payslips shows less then 1550. Because he was non salaried so far, that was not a problem for the fiance visa, because when they calculated his annual salary, they added all payslips together and they were over 18,600. But if they use the salaried method, where they take the lowest payslip, then we wont satisfy the financial requirement.

Ok - in the last 12 months of payslips does he meet the requirements?
If so go for Cat B

when we add all the payslips together then yes. So all payslips from the last 12 months together need to be above 18,600 and the last one before the application needs to be above 1550 because he is salaried?
