Outstanding British Citizenship > 4 months

Post by rusty31 » Mon Apr 22, 2024 2:59 pm

Hi all,

I have been following the british citizenship forum for a while, however it seems like most people are getting their citizenship approved within 2-3 months. We submitted our biometrics on 7 Dec so has almost been 5 months for us!!

Just wondering if we could potentially collate a few of the delayed claims (greater than 4 months) to understand if there's anything that's slowing us down together / if we can help each other / new applicants!

Eligibility criteria: settled status + 1year (EU and non EU partner)
Language: New Zealand Passport
Method of application: 20/11/23 online
Biometric appointment: 07/12/23 (Mark Lane London)
FNE email 19/02/24 and 20/03/24 with no responses
Emailed MP who has had nothing back from home office either
Date of receipt of approval: pending
Date of Ceremony: pending

Your application is still below six months processing times - if there is an issue, eg lost biometrics, UKVI would let you know. I myself received my approval after 5 months, so right now the best course of my action is to wait a bit longer and start chasing after the 6 months mark. Remember that each application is assessed on its own merit and on very different timelines even for family members.
