Hello everyone,
I submitted my FLR (FP) visa in December 2023, it was the third extension (I am on a 10yr route and I have been granted visa twice already).
I got a positive reply last week (april 2024) but the Home Office changed my route, instead of Family Member as Parent, they granted a Family Member visa as Partner. Here is the letter they sent:
Dear YANNICK xxxx xxxx
Ref: 1212-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
You have been granted permission to stay in the United Kingdom (UK) under
the Immigration Rules for Family Member as a partner on the 10-year route to
settlement
You do not meet the requirements for the route you applied for. You have indicated
that you are in a relationship with your partner. Therefore, please note that your
application has not been considered under the parent route of Appendix FM of the
Immigration Rules. I have considered whether you meet the requirements of any
other family or private life routes and I am satisfied that you do. You have therefore
been granted permission on the 10-year partner route to settlement.
You meet the requirements of the partner 10-year route because it would not be
reasonable to expect your children to leave the UK.
You have been granted permission to stay in the UK until 11 November 2026.
I have applied as a parent as this was my initial route and I have done half of the route already. Now the Home Office is putting me in a different route which will require another 10yrs and I don't think it is rightful. It is going to cost me more money and will take longer.
I called them and they asked me to send an email to admin.review.enquiries, which I did. I just wanted to know if there is something else I should do.
P.S: the form for FLP (M) and FLR(FP) is the same.
