Previous Visa Applications - Visit Visa

Post by BandomRob13 » Wed Jun 05, 2024 8:58 pm

Good day,

I am applying for British Citizenship.

I arrived in the UK on a Fiance visa in 2009. After marriage, I applied for an FLR visa in 2009. I gave birth in 2011, and applied for ILR in 2012.

All applications were successful.

In including my previous applications, I remembered I applied for a UK Visit Visa in 2005 which was refused. At the time I applied to visit my future husband when we were friends rather than fiances, as we had not yet met in person. At the time, my future husband provided finances for me to travel.

I have these 3 questions

1) Do I need to include this refused Visit Visa in my Citizenship application
2) Will this failed application count against me>
3) As this application is 19 years ago will it still hold relevance

My belief is that it will not be held against me because, if it was, I wouldn't have been accepted for a Fiance Visa, FLR, and ILR. But, I am concerned that I may not need to include this visit visa application, and I am concerned that if I do it will affect my application for Citizenship.

Please help me

Though you declare it, it's of no relevance or impact on naturalisation or citizenship.

It won't be held against you.

You don't have to include the visit visa application. That's a non-immigrant visa application. It has no weight on your immigration pathway or in anyway assesses your character.

Only immigration visas that lead to settlement needs to be declared.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
