back to ireland

Post by backtoireland » Sun Mar 27, 2005 12:26 am

I am a Chinese Student currently studying in UK. Before I came to UK, I studied in Ireland for Four and a half years, the main area of my studying while I was in Ireland was Web desgining. Now I am stuying in University of Luton in MSc Logistics and business managment, and I am about to graduat in the coming two months, and I am looking for the working opprotunity in Ireland.

I am wondering if it is possible for me to get a work permit, assuming that i can find a job in Ireland or UK.

You can get a work permit if an Irish employer wants to hire you and is willing to sponsor you for a work permit - the employer needs to make the application and it is a long procedure (maybe not less than 2 months).

But as you are in IT, if you have a degree in IT (at least Bachelor) you can apply for working visa - you only need a job offer and you can apply by yourself - it will be issued for a couple of weeks and you will have the right to live and work in Ireland for 2 years initally, after that you can renew it. Also with the working visa you can change the employers. Look at that link: http://www.entemp.ie/labour/workpermits ... sation.htm
