Hello Lovely People,
Apologies for the lengthy message.
I am reaching out to seek clarification on a query regarding the Global Talent Visa endorsement process, as I believe this forum is best suited to guide me on this matter.
To provide some context, I am a PhD graduate who has recently accepted a postdoctoral research fellow position at a university funded by UKRI. Based on information available on the UKVI website (https://www.gov.uk/global-talent), my understanding is that I am not required to notify the Home Office of any changes in my employment.
The Global Talent Visa process is a two-step procedure. The first step involves obtaining an endorsement from the relevant body. In my case, the HR department at my institution has issued a Statement of Guarantee addressed to UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), confirming my appointment as a research fellow on a UKRI-funded research project at the university. This is under UKRI’s endorsement - fast-track route (R3). Once endorsed by UKRI, I will receive a four-year Global Talent Visa directly from the UKVI.
My query is as follows: If I decide to change my job or leave my current position at the university, would this affect my Global Talent Visa? Specifically, would my endorsement be withdrawn in such a case? If not, under what circumstances might my endorsement be withdrawn? My understanding is that if the endorsement is withdrawn, my Global Talent Visa would be curtailed.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or clarification on this matter, especially regarding the potential impact of a job change or departure on my endorsement status.
Thank you in advance for your help and insights.
Best regards,
