Ecctis (or) Naric for English Language proving

Post by NuwanSamar » Mon Dec 09, 2024 12:58 pm

Dear Moderators/Gurus,

First I need to thank you for the opportunity giving me to discuss the immigration matters.

Myself applying Naturalisation, via 3 Year route. Husband having British Citizenship. Right now I was in ILR for last 5 years. For English Language proving earlier I got ILR using NARIC statement. I understand now it is replaced to ECCTIS. My question is Still can I use the NARIC certificate to prove the English or should I need to apply to Ecctis? Please advice. My ILR is expiring on 31 December 2024.

Thanks

For naturalisation you can rely on what you have provided when applying for ILR.

NOTE your ILR is not expiring, it is "indefinite"! Your BRP is expiring and you need to apply for eVisa, irrespective of whether you apply for naturalisation.

Hi alterhase58,

I've created UKVI account for evisa using my BRP numer. After sign-in, when I check the forms it says

Forms Sign in details

Your form :
"You have no recent applications. To apply go to GOV.UK and choose an application."

I'm confused. how to apply evisa?

Thanks.

Sorry I don't have any experience with the eVisa system.
Best to contact the evisa support contact?

Hi alterhase58,

Thank you for your continuous support and guidance. I've now successfully applied for e-visa and got email from UKVI and view my immigration status. Is that ok to apply for naturalisation now. Please advice. Thanks in advance.

It is not known in detail yet how eVisa status feeds into naturalisation. Submit copy of your BRP (even if it will expire it is proof of your ILR). Good you secured eVisa status regardless.
All advice comes from personal research and experience and should not be regarded as professional opinion.
