Visa for my parent

Post by Ed23456 » Mon Jan 13, 2025 6:25 pm

Hi,
I’m hoping someone can help with this
I’m filling an application for my parent, I’m wondering how to answer this question

What permission do they have to be in the UK?

The question is about my visa status. there are only these options to select.
1) They have a temporary visa.
2) They are in the UK Permanently.
3) They do not have a visa and not in the UK permanently.
4) I cannot contact my relative.

I have a certificate of naturalisation but not my British passport yet. If I click on yes on option 2, it ask me for my passport number which I don’t have, how do I go about this? Can I use my certificate number?

I’m not sure I understand. Are you saying that they are in the U.K. on a tourist visa, but you want to apply for them to stay permanently?

Also, what are their nationalities? And what specific visa are they applying for?

I’m applying for a tourist visa for my mum, and they’ve asked who she is coming to visit and what her relationship is to me.

The next question asks what permission I have to be in the UK, since she is coming to visit me. The options given are:
1. They have a temporary visa.
2. They are in the UK permanently.
3. They do not have a visa and are not in the UK permanently.
4. I cannot contact my relative.

I am permanently in the UK through naturalisation, so I would select option 2. However, when I do, they ask for my passport number—but I don’t have a British passport yet, only my naturalisation certificate.

The reason I haven’t applied for my British passport is that I need to provide my previous country’s passport, which I can’t find. It’s also expired, so I would need to apply for a new one before applying for my first British passport.

Would I be able to use my naturalisation certificate as a reference number in the passport number section?
