Visiting Sweden with UK visitor visa

Post by fazhaque » Sun Jan 26, 2025 2:59 pm

Hi, I'm looking for for some advice on this please.

Can someone travel to Sweden for few days with UK visitor visa valid for 6 months. Or we need to get a separate Schengen visa?

Many Thanks.

Is it related to UK immigration?

Anyhow UK visa is issued for the UK. There UK government has no jurisdiction in Sweden so I guess this someone will need to apply for a separate visa.

The UK has never been a part of the Schengen Zone and people with non-UK and non-EU passports would need two separate visas from the UK and Sweden (or any other Schengen country) to enter the two countries.

Thank you, appreciated. Can we apply for Schengen visa while in the UK or we have to apply from home country? Sorry the rules are not very clear on relevant websites.

You can only apply from the UK if you're resident here. As proof of residency would be required by the Swedish Embassy. So basically, the person would need to go home to apply.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
