Applying for ILR based on a "finite-funded permanent contract"

Post by llyh » Tue Feb 18, 2025 12:40 pm

Hi, I am currently working as a researcher at a university with a finite-funded permanent contract. This means that my employment with the university will continue, but subjected to the continuing availability of project activities for me and/or the funding underpinning my post. Just for background - I came as a student in 2016, got my Skilled worker visa in 2020 and has stayed on with the same employer until now. My current contract will end in June 2026.

My question is - would a finite-funded permanent contract allow me to apply for an ILR? Many thanks!

I have seen others in similar situations getting ILR. Note that the rules require you to be required for the foreseeable future as this has to be mentioned din the sponsor letter.
