UK SPOUSAL VISA REQUIREMENT

Post by Igloogreen » Wed Feb 26, 2025 5:33 pm

Hi guys,

Thanks for this forum, hoping I will be able to get some clarity.

Context:

I am a British citizen I am applying for Spousal visa for my husband who is Nigerian.

I am employed and I meet the requirement for employment in terms of earnings.

I have my 6 months payslip and bank statement

I currently live with my mother in the Uk and this is the same address my husband will be living in the same address. It is a 3 bedroom house, so we will have a room to ourselves.

I have a few questions please.

- As I live in my mother’s house at the moment, will that be an issue for our application?

- I currently do not have any of the bills in my name. Is it worth asking my mum to put some of the bills in my name before we submit?

- do I need any letter from the council?

- my mother currently doesn’t charge me for rent

- I do have my bank statements , pay slips, phone bills in the home address.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys.

If your mother rents the property from the Local Authority, you will need a letter from the Council confirming that your spouse can live there. Are they aware that you live with your mother ?
