Short stays abroad and E vetting

Post by Irishspouse » Sat Mar 08, 2025 8:10 am

Hi Guys,

I have finally been asked for E vetting and they want all addresses since birth.

Just wondering do short stays abroad count?

My husband was working in Canada for a couple of months and I went to visit him on a tourist visa for 2.5 months and stayed with him. Should I include the canada address? I technically wasnt residing there.
I have the address and it was only 2.5 months but the e vetting form doesnt allow for month dates just year dates so I cant declare how short it was and I notice that they often request a Police clearance cert if you have lived over 6 months abroad (I already had to organise another south african police cert prior to getting the E vetting link!). I dont want them to request a Canadian police clearance cert.

Any advice? Should I just put it in?

Thanks for your help

Short stays do not need to be disclosed. As long as you have not changed your place of residence, there is no need to disclose that.
