Spouse visa after divorce

Post by moese_69 » Tue Mar 25, 2025 2:22 pm

Hello,

I hope you can help with the following:

I am originally from Morocco and obtained my British citizenship through marriage, which has now ended. My divorce was finalized last month, and I am planning to marry again — this time to a Moroccan woman whom I would like to sponsor for a UK spouse visa.

I meet all the eligibility requirements (financial, accommodation, etc.), but my only concern is whether the Home Office might take issue with the fact that I am remarrying shortly after my divorce. Does the timing matter, or is the application assessed solely based on meeting the requirements and demonstrating a genuine relationship?

Thank you in advance for your guidance.

If your divorce is final, you're free to marry. You're British now, think like one.

If you were a natural born citizen and ended a relationship and jumping into another one, do you think the HO would kick against that? Guessing you might also have been separated a while before finalising the divorce.
If you meet all requirements, then goodluck with it.

It just needs to be genuine.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
