Skilled worker dependent visa extension after partner becomes citizen

Post by sb26ld » Sun Mar 30, 2025 10:33 pm

My partner first came to the UK when I was on Tier 2 general visa. When I applied for ILR, she applied to extend her skilled worker dependent visa on the same route. Based on very helpful guidance from this forum, we used the exact same details as my initial Tier 2 general application (e.g., same UAN, CoS etc)

I have since become a British citizen but my partner is not eligible for ILR yet. So, we need to extend her visa again. Am I correct in assuming that the process will be the same as before where we enter the details of my initial Tier 2 general application?

A specific question from the application form: It asks if I am a British citizen? Should I say 'no' and continue with my erstwhile citizenship details

That's correct.

All information in the form should be provided as accurate as possible. If you as the partner and former lead applicant are now British, then this question should be responded accordingly.
