Counting 5years for ILR when you changed jobs

Hi All,
I'm transferring my skilled worker visa under new employer.
I'm not sure how many years I should apply for visa this time. 2 year or 2.5 year?

My first UK entry stamp on my passport: 23/03/2022
Visa start date on BRP: 25/03/2022

( I changed sponsors 2 times before)

I have some gaps between the jobs. (like a month til I found new job and 1-2week before I started new job)

When they count 5 years for ILR, Does 5 years just start from the date you entered on your first skilled worker visa? And this time doesn't deduct the gap if your visa curtailed and started new visa during this 5 years?

So in my situation, I should apply 2 years or 2.5 years visa now?

It's the visa issue date that counts for ILR under this route. The date of entry is irrelevant.

Gaps between jobs are not an issue.

The length of your new SW visa is tied to the work start and end dates on the CoS. It's not something that you decide arbitrarily.

Hi! Thank you for reply.
Im still confusing. My first visa start date on BRP card is 25 Mar 2022.
And CoS issued date is 28 Feb 2022. Start date on Cos is 1Apr 2022.

Then when I counting 5 years, it starts from 1 Apr 2022?
( I changed jobs 2 times after that. There are some short gaps like a week between jobs)

And my last date at work in my previous job is 19 Mar 2025 (Probably my old employer reported on this date to Home office)

Now I have to apply 2year or 2.5 years to make 5 years for settelment?
