Booking before confirmation

Post by 2025Citizen » Sat May 10, 2025 11:48 am

Hi, long time viewer of the forum and first time poster.

I applied for citizenship in Feb 25 and I had a pretty straightforward case (spouse visa, stayed a year longer than needed before I was eligible, no absences, no exceptions, etc.)

A colleague who recently got citizenship told me to constantly check once per week on the citizenship council website, if my records are showing (they mentioned sometimes the confirmations to the applicants take longer than the actual approval)

This morning (Saturday) was the first time the council allowed me to book - I have not gotten any confirmation emails. Should I wait until Monday to book? Is this normal?

For context - whenever I had added my application number to Westminster council, I would get an error message saying “we do not have your records” but now it is showing my full name and allowing me to book

Go ahead.
You are approved that’s why the council allows you to book because they have received your certificate!

It means you have been approved. You will need the official email for the ceremony, but you can book a date for now. Congratulations.

Thanks! There was only one available spot for a private booking (and it’s on Wednesday) so have booked that and will hopefully get the Atlas / official confirmation tomorrow - would it be possible to call any number and ask if I can get the approval email or is it just more of a waiting game?

Approval email receipt times are hit and miss .... may come Monday, or next week, in some cases reported never received...
Phoning UKVI is also a lottery, the call centres are run by a third party, you won't speak to a caseworker. Suggest attend Wednesday, take your passport as ID. They have a list of approved attendees!

Just wanted to thank you both! I ended up booking it yesterday (last slot!) and I got the official Atlas confirmation this morning!
