Depending on the number of people attending it could be both (like last year). I'm hoping they will release the dates this week.

Fingers crossed they announce the dates this week. it's really frustrating for people waiting and unable to make plans for the month of june. I also wish the new minister would revert back to the old way of giving out the certificates in person, rather than waiting another 6 weeks! the whole process is just overstretched for no reason

I agree completely. My Lithuanian passport is due to expire in August, and I've a wedding to attend in Spain at the end of September. I'm losing my Lithuanian citizenship as LT doesn't allow it, so now I'm left wondering if I should get my passport renewed for a few months (and pay over 100 euros for that)

You absolutely should. Even if the ceremony was on June 1, you would get your certificate not earlier than July 1 (likely later), and if you rush the same day to apply for the passport, it will take another month realistically.

So you won't get your Irish passport earlier than in August anyway. Realistically, mid-late August. And if there's a delay (certificate may come in 2 months after the ceremony + if the passport office requests for some additional docs), you're easily looking into mid-September.

€100 is not a too expensive "insurance" i'd argue :)

Just revisiting this topic of the June 2025 citizenship ceremonies. Last year 2024 there were 4 ceremonies in June. This year we're nearing the end of May, and I still can't find any info anywhere on the June ceremonies.

Has anyone received an invite to a ceremony or heard anything at all? Many thanks
